Personnel transfer basket, also named marine offshore man basket, is a carrier device specially designed to contain and move crew safely and quickly from one point to another by lifting using a crane system fitted on either a floating or fixed platform. It’s been a safe choice and most preferred as the transfer baskets are manufactured as per international maritime safety standards and regulations such as EN. It is also easily reversible. A personnel transfer basket is characterized by two platform rings and frame. These are a bottom padded ring, a top ring, and frame made from netted ropes, metal or both. The top ring has a lifting ring attached above it to link the basket carrier to a crane hook system.

Stable structure: Made of a durable aluminum frame, it can effectively protect the transfer personnel from falling objects and side collisions.
Multiple protection configuration: Equipped with safety belts, handles and foot pedals, it can ensure the stability of personnel during the transfer process and reduce the risk of accidents.
High safety factor rope: High-strength polypropylene composite rope is used as a sling, with a safety factor of more than 30 times, which greatly enhances the safety of the transfer process.
Application areas
These baskets are often used in the offshore oil and gas industry, where workers need to be transported between supply vessels and oil rigs. They provide a controlled and safe means of moving personnel across potentially rough seas while minimizing the risk of injury.
Precautions
- They must only be used with suitable cranes with SWL as shown above (wire ropes).
- Personnel using the baskets must wear safety harnesses that are attached to the cage.
- The Max. Service life is 36 months.
- The ropes etc must be inspected prior to each use.
- The equipment must be regularly inspected in according with National Law in the country of use.
- The Max. Wind speed during use is 7m/s.
