The ​​Life Boat Release Hook is a critical safety device designed for the automatic or manual release of lifeboats or life rafts from their davits under load. With a rated capacity of ​​37 kN​​, this hook ensures secure holding during normal operations and safe, controlled release during emergency evacuations. It complies with the latest international maritime safety regulations including ​​SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea), IMO, and LSA Code​​, with certificate issued by KRS and BV.

Product application

 

It is suitable for use on merchant ships, offshore platforms, cruise liners, and vessels requiring certified life-saving appliances.
It can be used for rescue boats with a davit load less than 3700 kg and/or a davit launched life raft up to 40 pax. The hook can be operated as an automatic release hook, releasing when the craft enters the water, or as a manual release hook, whereby the load needs to be off the hook before releasing.

It is installed as part of the lifeboat / life raft davit system and is responsible for holding the life saving appliances securely until an emergency evacuation is initiated, at which point it allows for a controlled and safe descent or free-fall launch.

We also offer 15KN manual release hook for rescue boat and 25KN automatic release hook for davit-launched life raft, MED approved.

Q: What certifications can you provide?

A: We offer MED B and D approval by DNV or RINA as per Directive 2014/90/EU on marine equipment (MED).

Q: What are the payment terms of EMF Marine?

A: Normally T/T 100% in advance for small orders. T/T 30% against order and balance before shipment for large orders. But we can discuss on special payment terms for some special orders.

Q: What are your general delivery terms?

A: EXW, FOB are the general terms we offer. CIF, FCA is less and less offered due to quick changes on freight in current unstable shipping market.
